Music superstar Juanes is partnering with award winning producer Ben Silverman and "Narcos" executive producer Eric Newman to develop a new series about his life.

According to Billboard, the series, called "Persiguiendo el Sol," will follow Juanes' journey from his youth in Colombia to his rise as one of the most popular Latin music artists.

Silverman, whose work includes Latino-centered mainstream shows like "Ugly Betty" and "Jane the Virgin," will serve as producer, while Newman will act as the series head and executive producer. Also part of the project will be Juanes' manager Rebeca Leon.

Newman's previous work includes films like the remake of "Robocop," "Dawn of the Dead," and "In Time," as well as television shows "Hemlock Grove" and "NYPD Blue."

However, it is his work on Netflix's "Narcos" that has made him a great fit to contribute to the series.

"He's the first American producer to bring American show running to American production," Silverman said of Newman.

The series will be bilingual and will feature cameos from several other famous Latinos stars. Shooting for the show will be begin in the spring once a production partner is found.

This television project will not be the first time that the musician shares his personal life and music process with fans. In a 2013 memoir of the same name, he revealed details about his life and career through a series of photos and personal accounts. In 2012, Juanes also launched his SiriusXM radio show "Yo Soy Juanes," where he was candid about his career.

The singer released his debut album "Fíjate Bien" in 2000. He rose to super stardom in 2002, when his singles "A Dio Le Pido" and "La Camisa Negra" dominated the music charts.

In 2005, the 41-year-old Grammy winner was named one of Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People," and he received the BMI President's Award in 2010.
