There is no doubt that many are looking forward to hearing about "Tekken 7," but, unfortunately, Bandai Namco is keeping things about the game under wraps. Here is the latest scoop on "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution."

Title Featured in Two Conventions

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" appeared at two separate conventions. "Tekken" fans from Portland were in for a treat when Bandai Namco and Wizard World Inc. made the game available for fans to play and test during the 3-day event. The Wizard World Comic Con in Portland started last Feb. 19 and ended Feb. 21.

Meanwhile, the title was also featured in Japan Amusement Expo (JAEPO) 2016.

New Gameplay Footage

Aside from the inclusion of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" in the said conventions, the popular "Tekken" players Nobi and Tokido showed an intense fight using Dragunov and Akuma, respectively.

In the 20-minute video, Akuma's prowess and power were unleashed. Akuma is the most powerful character in the mythos of "Street Fighter." He is a man-turned-demon who feels the need to corrupt Ryu into following his path. He is a monster when compared to Ryu and Ken but a saint when up against the Mishima clan.

However, although the newcomer is tough, he is not fully indestructible. The same footage showed several ways to bring the Supreme Master of the Fist down. One of the most efficient ways is to counteract Akuma's special techniques, which is exactly what Dragunov did.

With the right timing and moves, one can still knock Akuma down, but one should take note that the process will not be easy because his arrival in the "Tekken 7" world did not alter his abilities. In fact, he desires nothing but to be the most powerful and feared warrior in the land. He is in the gameplay with the goal of killing the entire Mishima clan.

Akuma the Lone Crossover Character

Fans were initially shocked when they saw the "Street Fighter" character in the first trailer of "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution." However, they quickly overcame their surprise and took it as a sign that the "Street Fighter" and "Tekken" crossover will soon happen.

Unfortunately, the full crossover is unlikely to happen because Akuma is the lone character who will be joining "Tekken 7: Fated Retribution."

"Right now, Akuma is the only one we have planned," "Tekken 7" senior game designer Michael Murray announced. "Harada [Game Producer Katsuhiro Harada] and I have always been against guest characters because it kinda throws off the Tekken world and setting."

Release Date

"Tekken 7: Fated Retribution" is set to arrive in Japanese arcades in July this year. However, it will hit PS4 and Xbox One at a later date.
