Chris Bosh could be out for the remainder of the season though a lot depends on what happens in the next 24 hours.

Bosh has been sidelined for almost two weeks now with a yet to be divulged medical condition though it is believed to be the same blood clot issue which forced him out last season.

It was last year when a blood clot moved from Bosh’s calf to his lungs that saw him sit out 30 games last season. The 31-year-old center forward took blood thinners several months after that.

The 11-time NBA All-Star continued with that remedy but it seems that such a remedy has now met some resistance, leading to his sidelining.

Bosh was supposed to be in the NBA All Star game in Toronto but the medical issue forced him to withdraw. He has not played since Feb. 9 where the Heat lost to the San Antonio Spurs.

The verdict on Bosh’s condition will likely be known by tomorrow after team owner Mickey Arison and team president Pat Riley meet with the center-forward.

Though the real score on Bosh’s status has been limited, it is looking likely that he will be sitting out this season as last season. Any plans for a return by Bosh would depend on a re-evaluation after three to six months.

Despite the uncertainty, Bosh has been working out with his teammates to a certain extent.

"He gets on the court, shoots [a few] jump shots and gets a little sweat in," said teammate Dwyane Wade. "He's still a big part of this team. As I've said before, he's around, and he's in good spirits."

Despite the setback, Wade and his teammates are still upbeat about Bosh returning to the lineup this season.

The Heat currently tote a 32-25 win-loss card. Their most recent game was a defeat at the hands of the Golden State Warriors (118-112) and marked the fourth consecutive game that the ballclub has played without their regular starting forward.

NBA veteran Ama’re Stoudemire started in place of Bosh against the defending champions.

The loss put an end to the Heat’s three-game winning run and their first since Bosh was forced to the sidelines.

If Bosh is ruled out of the season, other forwards will need to step up on his behalf. Aside from Stoudemire, head coach Erick Spoelstra will have to find a way to motivate Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng and the rest of the frontline on his behalf.

Despite claims by the team that his medical condition is far better than the last season, the fact that it has recurred is not a good sign and hopefully not one that would force the 13-year NBA veteran into retirement.
