Cazzu, Jhayco, Rauw Alejandro, Tainy, escándalo Rosita

The song "Rosita" was presented to fans of Spanish-language urban music as the highly anticipated reunion of Rauw Alejandro and Jhayco (formerly known as Jay Cortez). The result was a scandal, with many defending the Argentine artist Cazzu and reigniting the controversy surrounding the father of her daughter, Christian Nodal. All the artists involved have spoken out, and in their statements, they made it clear they didn't understand the reason behind the reaction from many in the public, especially women.

What they did, wrote, and replicated is all explained, but

The problem was caused by this bar:

I'm going to break it and I'm going to fix it
This is politics so I can rob you
I'm going to marry you, Christian Nodal style.

For those who need context, the Mexican artist ended his relationship with Cazzu, the mother of his only daughter, Inti, and a month later he was already married to Ángela Aguilar .

A brief description of what happened after the release of the song, performed by Rauw and Jhayco, produced by Tainy, for an album by Tainy himself, would include the words betrayal, outrage, minimization, and veiled apologies.

Cazzu and his son Inti Nodal

Shortly after Rosita 's release, Cazzu unfollowed the authors and performers and wrote a phrase that could be interpreted as referring to the song: "The art we make is our stance towards life."

After Rauw and Jhayco spoke out without mentioning her, but implying that it was nonsense, the Argentine singer-songwriter and writer wrote a column on her Substack, which she titled " Diss Track."

In the text, she seems indignant about her daughter, but it's clear she experienced the incident as a betrayal of the friendship she thought she had with the Puerto Rican artists. In fact, it was they, starting with Tainy, who opened the doors for her to the world of urban music in Spanish, beyond the very niche market of Spanish-language trap in Argentina.

Cazzu's fans, winners of a thousand battles against Nodal and Aguilar, rearmed their armies and, reinforced by the support of Nicki Nicole, TINI, La Joaqui, Bizarrap and more, who unfollowed everyone involved on social media, and Bad Bunny, who ordered his credit removed from the song, increased the pressure to the point that the three urban artists posted messages on social media, which some took as apologies, but not so many.

None of them apologized for having taken a situation that has resulted in what appears to be a case of vicarious violence and absent fatherhood, in addition to a "friend", to promote a song.

On the contrary, they seem to be portraying themselves as the victims. The press, the public, and "people" misinterpreted the situation and tried to start a war. It could also be inferred that they accuse Cazzu of using the issue to draw attention to her tour.

The impression this writer got is that this episode, the first in which the audience rejected an urban music bar, not because it is vulgar or sexual, but because it endorses emotional irresponsibility and absent fatherhood, was a missed opportunity for the artists to demonstrate that they do respect women, that they do listen to the mature public and that they do want to be a role model.

Here are the messages so you can form your own opinion:

Rauw Alejandro:

In all honesty, for anyone who wants to read: (numbered so that nothing is missed)

1. I have never spoken ill of Cazzu. I consider her a friend ; although we haven't been close for years, I only have fond memories of her and her people. And I wish her all the best in her career, now and always.

2. "Rosita" is a song from TAINY's album, in collaboration with Jhayco and me.

3. Regarding "the bar"... I didn't write it, and within the context of the song, when I heard it, I didn't interpret it as disrespectful to anyone. I understand that everyone can interpret it differently, and if it bothered someone, that's fine.

4. I know that being in the public eye is very exposing, and sometimes you get mentioned on days when you're not available for anything or anyone. We're only human. It's happened to me, I live it, and that's why I understand it. For my part, I prefer not to fuel the noise, even though sometimes it's unavoidable, because they'll twist your words or make up all sorts of things.

5. To the media (some fandoms): Don't take this out of context and try to create conflict between people. We're starting the year, and I know you want action.
But here there's no fighting , no bad vibes. There's music, there's work, and there's unity.

Jhayco:
To whom it may concern;

I, Jesús M. Nieves Cortés, find it unfair that my colleagues who participated in the song "Rosita" are being singled out , and how a verse I wrote has been taken out of context, using the example of Christian Nodal breaking up with someone and then quickly getting married. At no point was there, nor was there ever, any intention to belittle or make anyone feel targeted because of a past personal situation, since all of us involved are public figures (artists) who are exposed to the media and public opinion. I deeply regret that such a historic and heartfelt collaboration is being tarnished by those who always try to portray it as a war of words between men and women, which simply doesn't exist . I came from a woman, and she can vouch for me; beyond that, I don't control the narrative or what people might think of me. No one will ever be right because this is all based on thoughts and opinions. Rauw and I ended a pointless war that lasted for years, and now at this stage of maturity we understand that the best way to repay the public for the lost time is by coming together to give them what they want to hear, which is good "Music." I'm no longer interested in drama, nor do I have the need for controversies or pointless battles because I recognize and know what I contribute to the industry as a creator and creative.
With nothing further to add, I hope I have clarified my point of view, and if you disagree, that's fine.

👍🏻 I understand and respect it.

Success and congratulations to Cazzu for her new tour and new album "Latinaje" here there is no resentment there is love for everyone.

Tainy

The purpose of creating "Rosita" was always unity: to be able to hear Jhayco and Rauw together for the first time on the same track. The intention was never to offend, hurt, or disrespect anyone.

I'm very sorry that for some people the result was the opposite. I understand that we all have different points of view and that we don't always interpret things in the same way; that's something I understand and respect.

From the bottom of my heart, I only wish that, in an era where negativity often stands out, we can continue to enjoy something as special as music, so that it unites us and accompanies us in difficult times, when we need it most.

That will always be my purpose in this, from the first day when my credits said Tiny Tunes until the very end. THANK YOU to each and every one of you who follow us and listen to our music.
They know we appreciate them so much 🫶🏼
