The NFL draft is the most electrifying draft in any sport. Team do anything they can do to get more leverage, more picks and higher picks. With the draft only a few days away, time is becoming limited on the decision making process. Teams have had a full three months now since the season ended in early February to decided what player or position they want and need.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys have been linked in a possible trade rumor.

According to Peter King, the Eagles "want in on the prime receiver action" in this draft. The Eagles currently select No. 22 overall, which probably won't be good enough to draft the best wide receiver available. In March, the Eagles decided to release star receiver DeSean Jackson after no team was willing to make a trade for him. Jackson had statistically his best season last year with a career high 1,332 yards and a career high 82 receptions. With his departure from the team, the Eagles need a replacement receiver.

The Cowboys currently sit at the No. 16 draft position after (another) an 8-8 season. It's very likely that a top tier wide receiver will still be available at the No. 16 spot when the Cowboys pick and the Eagles are very interested in trading up. If the Cowboys were to trade out of that spot, the Eagles would have to offer at least two draft picks or a valuable player on the roster to match equal value.

Such a sequence does bring up a few problems for the Cowboys. One, the Cowboys need a ton of help on defense. This defense needs help at the bottom level, mid level and high level all the way up to the secondary. Trading out of the first round might eliminate the Cowboys' chances of signing an elite defensive player. Two, the Cowboys already have 11 draft picks, which rank among the second highest of any team. If the Cowboys are going to trade out of the first round, they need more than draft picks, they need high picks or a great player to come along with the deal. And thirdly, trading within the division can be very risky. Ask the Miami Dolphins and Wes Welker.

There has also been trade rumors about Washington Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins. The Cleveland Browns have shown interest in the former fourth round pick out of Michigan State. If the Browns can get Cousins for a discount, then this could be a great move. However, the Browns currently sit at the No. 4 spot in the draft, so overpaying or trading for an unproven quarterback would be a mistake.

The Atlanta Falcons, St. Louis Rams, Dallas Cowboys, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers have the most draft picks this year. Thus, we can expect those teams to be the busiest on draft day.
