Jailed former NFL star Aaron Hernandez recently met with Jose Baez, the same Florida attorney that infamously got Casey Anthony acquitted of murdering her young daughter.

Word is Baez recently paid a visit to the Souza Baranowski maximum security prison where Hernandez is being held on a sentence of life without the possibility of parole stemming from his first-degree murder conviction in connection with the 2013 execution-styled killing of Odin Lloyd.

Hernandez Rumored to be Still Planning Appeal

Ever since being found guilty as the triggerman in the Lloyd killing, Hernandez has been feverishly trying to have his conviction overturned and is apparently hoping Baez can do for him what he did for Anthony.

Thus far, Baez has confirmed meeting with Hernandez, but has declined to say if he is now formally representing the former New England Patriots tight end.

Hernandez also still faces trail in the 2012 drive-by killing of two men outside a downtown Boston nightclub. He has pleaded not guilty in that case.

Meanwhile, prosecutors recently sought to have a Suffolk County court order Hernandez to surrender a cellphone believed to hold key evidence related to his upcoming trial. The now 26-year-old former Florida star is accused of gunning down Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado after one of them accidentally spilled a drink on him at a nightclub and failed to apologize.

In the Lloyd killing, authorities have speculated he may have been killed because of his knowledge of other crimes Hernandez is suspected of having been involved in.

Hernandez's Prison Struggles

Since being incarcerated, Hernandez has been accused of threatening to have a guard and his family murdered and transferred to an even more isolated part of the prison after a pair of altercations with other prisoners described as gang related.

Hernandez also appeared for a recent court hearing sporting a "Lifetime" jailhouse tattoo officials have deemed as gang affiliated.
