“House of Cards” will be renewed for a fifth installment where fans might have the opportunity to meet a new political leader.

In “House of Cards” Season 4, Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) was the leader of the Democrats in presidential elections. Will things change in the next season?

House of Cards Season 5 Rumors

Fans predicted several scenarios where Frank would be pushed to the side, allowing for a new Democratic political leader.

It could be possible that Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) will make a plot to kill Frank. She went behind his back plenty of times, and there is no telling what she will do for power.

In “House of Cards” Season 5, Frank had a liver transplant, prompting a request for him to give up his leadership position due to his health issues. He never made the decision, but speculation is that he may step down.

Paul Sparks Gets Emmy Nomination for House of Cards

“House of Cards” actor Paul Sparks (Tom Yates) was Live on Facebook with The Hollywood Reporter, following his Emmy nomination for the show.

“I was filming for HOC in Maryland and I was on the train…then I got the call,” Sparks said about initially hearing about his nomination.

He said he was not expecting the nomination but it is lovely that he received one. The actor joked that he probably won the Emmy nomination because he was the only one on HOC with a beard.

Tom’s Love Story with the Underwoods

Sparks talked about his character in the show, stating that he is popular because he is just an interesting person.

“Tom is the cross between a loner and someone…who crawls inside of people that he meets. He wants to know what’s really going on [in other people’s lives],” Sparks said.

Will Tom have to choose between Claire and Frank in “House of Cards” Season 5? He plays an intriguing role in their lives. But if Claire completely turns on Frank, he might have to choose sides.

House of Cards Actors Leaving the Show

Meanwhile, Actor Mahersala Ali (Remy Danton) is quitting “House of Cards” to star in Marvel’s “Luke Cage” where he will play the villain Cottonmouth.

“I’m done with ‘House of Cards,” the actor told GQ Magazine. “There’s only so much space for you to stretch and develop and grow because there are so many characters.”

“House of Cards” Season 5 is expected to return to Netflix in 2017, although no formal announcement has been made as of yet.
