This 2016 Labor Day season will be a who's who in terms of which retailers are offering the biggest deals for eager shoppers.

With lead up to the actual holiday weekend now rivaling Black Friday promotions in terms of how long they're actually advertised and offered, last year clothing is reported to have accounted for roughly one-third of all discount sales and consumers can look forward to being able to take advantage of similar discounts this time around.

Big Clothing, Shoe Discounts

JCPenney and Kohl's are both expected to slice merchandise like swimwear by as much as 25 percent, including items that are already reduced by as much as 50 percent. Victoria Secret is already offering deals on the same kind of merchandise with discounts of as much as 70 percent.

When it comes to shoes, Nike, Reebok and Puma are all expected to be offering giant discounts. In addition, fancier retailers like Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole and Men's Warehouse are known to have offering discounts of as much as 70 percent this time of year and Target has been known to drop prices to as low as $1.98 on certain shoe styles.

Prices Slashed on Electronics

At outlets like Walmart and Best Buy, deals on TVs are expected to top last year's best of $250 for certain large size sets. When it comes to computers, retailer like MegaMacs and eBay offered new MacBooks Pro and Air discounted by as much as 88 percent last season and much of the same is expected this time around.

Among the online deals being promoted, Best Buy is also offering up to 25 percent off on HDTV and Home Theater sets with free shipping and up to $1,000 off on major kitchen appliance purchases.

Finally, those already looking ahead to next summer can take expect to cash in on heavily discounted grill and patio equipment with outlets like Home Depot and Target both offering step discounts.

Last year, Sears offered Kenmore and Char-Broil grills by as much as 25 percent off and consumers can only salivate about the prospect of having the chance of taking advantage of similar deals this season.
