Pippa Middleton earned her title as "Her Royal Hotness" when she stood as bridesmaid in the wedding of her older sister, Kate Middleton. The Royal Wedding took place in Westminster Abbey, where she sashayed down the aisle, leaving Pippa to become the center of attention in her figure-hugging dress.

But it seems that the Duchess of Cambridge won't be acting as as Pippa's bridesmaid or maid of honor as she doesn't want to upstage her once she ties the knot with financier James Matthews, in 2017. According to royal author Judy Wade, it's natural to have all eyes on the future Queen but it would be a tricky situation for Pippa. The Duchess would rather stay in the background as much as possible when attending her younger sister's wedding, Mail Online has reported.

Pippa, for her part, would prefer to make Kate as her maid of honor than act as a bridesmaid, as bridesmaids are traditionally supposed to be an unmarried member of the family. But just the same, the maid of honor should also be an unmarried family member by tradition. Kate would thus most likely become the "matron of honor" in Pippa's wedding.

Kate may alternatively play other roles in Pippa's wedding. She can perform the reading - a role conducted by her brother James during her Royal Wedding. Or more indirectly, she may become contented with being represented by her children, Princess Charlotte and Prince George, who will most likely take the role as flower girl and page boy, respectively.

Pippa is set to tie the knot with James, in Summer 2017 at her village church, St Mark's, in Englefield, Berkshire. The Sun reported "Pippa is a traditional girl and just wanted to get married at home," despite speculations that the marriage will take place in her fiance's hunting lodge in Scotland.

The wedding will only have 150 guests comprising of a small selection of friends and some famous personalities.
