Jay Z, Beyoncé and Solange Knowles have released a statement regarding the infamous elevator altercation prior to a Met Gala after party, which was held at New York's Standard Hotel on May 5.

"As a result of the public release of the elevator security footage from Monday, May 5, there has been a great deal of speculation about what triggered the unfortunate incident. But the most important thing is that our family has worked through it," the statement reads. "Jay and Solange each assume their share of responsibility for what has occurred. They both acknowledge their role in this private matter that has played out in the public. They both have apologized to each other, and we have moved forward as a united family."

"The reports of Solange being intoxicated or displaying erratic behavior throughout that evening are simply false," the statement continued. "At the end of the day families have problems, and we're no different. We love each other, and above all we are family. We've put this behind us and hope everyone else will do the same."

Meanwhile, when the footage of the violent incident was leaked online, The Standard Hotel previously responded, "We are shocked and disappointed that there was a clear breach of our security system and the confidentiality that we count on providing our guests. We are investigating with the utmost urgency the circumstances surrounding the situation and, as is our customary practice, will discipline and prosecute the individuals involved to our fullest capacity."

After an investigation, The Standard Hotel has also released a statement regarding the employee who reportedly sold the video to TMZ for $250,000.

"The Standard has identified the individual responsible for breaching the security policies of the hotel and recording the confidential CCTV video released by TMZ," the hotel said. "The Standard has already terminated the individual and will now be pursuing all available civil and criminal remedies. The Standard will next be turning over all available information to be criminal authorities."
