Good news to all looking forward to playing Super Mario Run. Nintendo has announced the first wave of rewards for Super Mario Run beginning with a new character named Toad. Toad is a mushroom retainer and he is free as soon as players download the game app. Toad and a lot more rewards are available through the My Nintendo loyalty service.

IGN has the scoop on Toad and the many rewards Nintendo has for players. The Japanese game guru described Toad as "a playable character in the Super Mario Run game. Toad can run a little bit faster than others." And of course, almost any Super Mario Bros. player can easily recognize Toad with his red and white mushroom head and adorable costume. He has been around since the first ever Super Mario game.

A player must have the app installed first before he could download Toad. The player has to link to his Nintendo account first before he could redeem this special free player. A link is available at IGN to get Toad instantly. Along with Toad are a number of rewards that will allow users to enjoy playing Super Mario Run and of course to share the game with other players as well.

According to Dual Shockers, Super Mario run needs internet connection to play to avoid piracy. It is also expected that around 30 million downloads will be done this week (equivalent to $60 million) with this new rewards. This surge in downloads is expected for a month that the game is in the market. On the other hand, the game's closest contender, Pokemon Go has earned $200 million for its first month in the market.

Super Mario Run is available only for iPhones. Android users are still waiting for news when the game would be available in Android format. This has been confirmed by Nintendo but an exact date when this would happen was not yet announced. It is expected that the number of users will double once Super Mario Run is released in Android format with more people using this platform compared to iPhone format.
