Square-Enix' Final Fantasy XV introduces a lot of interesting aspects to the franchise, while paying homage to some of the staples. The game's battle system, for example, is a departure from the turn-based system that the series was known for.

Mastery of the system, which closely resembles that of Kingdom Hearts, will greatly benefit players. A big chunk of the game is spent in the battlefield, and knowledge of the system will make each battle more rewarding.

According to News Everyday, there are three types of 'Strikes' that Noctis could use: the Blind Strike, the Warp Strike and the Link Strikes. Triggered when the player attacks from behind, Blind Strikes are powerful attacks that take the enemies by surprise. Partnered with blocking, dodging and parrying, and Nocits will be untouchable.

Warp points are presented in the early stages of the game. While it can be used to recover lost MP (and later on HP), Noctis can also use them to perform one of his signature attacks: the Warp Strike. After targeting an enemy, the player will warp towards it, delivering a damaging attack. It could also be used to setup Blind Strikes. The only downside to this is that it uses MP each strike, so player should keep an eye on the MP meter to make sure the attack could be performed.

Link Strikes are also a new addition to the player's arsenal. Being the first main Final Fantasy title to have one controllable player, Link Strikes could be used to perform combination attacks with the other members of the team. When Noctis and another party member (Ignis, Pompto or Gladiolus) move towards the same enemy, this triggers the Link Strikes, which deal at least double the expected damage.

Aside from the aforementioned attacks, the player can have the other party members use Techniques, which can be purchased from the Ascension menu.  After equipping a Technique, it can be used as long as the bar below the character's HP (called the Technique Bar) has the corresponding points for use.

Magic, another staple in Final Fantasy games, can be used by the team in the form of Elemancy, as Windows Central notes. Spells need to be made from deposits of Fire, Blizzard and Thunder Nocits can draw in certain locations, typically near camp sites. Once spells are created, they can be distributed to the team, which can cause massive AoE (Area of Effect) damage, and both friend and foe can get hurt.

Launched for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, Final Fantasy XV tells the story of Noctis and his friends, as they journey the land of Eos to protect the last remaining crystal against the forces of Niflheim.
