Samsung has been announcing new features with the update of Android 7.0 final version during its beta version. It seems like the company is planning to update the fingerprint sensor on its devices by adding fingerprint gestures feature with Nougat update.

As per Sammobile, a beta program tester asked whether the fingerprint scanner on Samsung devices can work like Google Pixel and Pixel XL. In said Google devices users can swipe up or down the fingerprint scanner to control the notification shade.

Samsung replied to the tester as "We are pleased to announce that we are trying to improve the features of the Fingerprint Scanner." It seems like Samsung is taking the suggestion into consideration for the time being.

The Google devices sport the fingerprint sensor at the back, which makes the gestures efficient and easier to use. Recent rumors suggest that Galaxy S8 could have the fingerprint sensor at the back as well.

Although it hasn't been officially announced yet but if Galaxy S8 do sport a rear fingerprint scanner, then adding gesture feature to it can be the best move by Samsung.

Meanwhile, Samsung seems to be in an experimental mode with this upcoming device as it is cancelling many features from Galaxy S8.

Sammobile confirms that Galaxy S8 will not have any headphone jack. Instead the device will feature a single USB Type-C port for charging and listening to music.

The result for this move is a thinner device that can house a larger battery. Also, because of a lack of jack, apparently the phone is expected to receive stereo speakers for higher audio quality.

Despite such pros, many users are skeptical about using a phone with no headphone jack.

Another confirmed news from Sammobile is that the Galaxy S8 will feature a 2K display like its predecessor and not a 4K display as many were expecting.

Headphone jack is not the only feature that Samsung is dropping. If rumors to be believed then as per Tech Times, the upcoming flagship device will not sport a dual-camera setup.

There are some other rumors as well which have been floating around related to Galaxy S8. According to GSMArena, the device will not display any home button. By ditching the home button, Samsung will showcase a bigger screen for the users.

There are further reports of Galaxy S8 packing a Snapdragon 830 processor and Exynos chips, instead of usual Snapdragon 821.

The device is expected to use an RGB Super AMOLED panel instead of a Diamond PenTile-based one, resulting in a high quality, crispier picture and screen display.

A better picture quality will go well with the VR headset and customers can enjoy more sharp pictures while using the GearVR.
