Drea de Matteo recently discussed her role as Wendy Case in FX's "Sons of Anarchy," as well as her experience working with co-star Katey Sagal, who plays the popular show's matriarch Gemma Teller Morrow.

In a recent interview with 97.1 FM's Evan Jankens during the Motor City Comic Con convention, the 42-year-old actress, who started her career starring as Adriana la Cerva in HBO's "The Sopranos," explained how the mob family drama paved the way for "SOA" to become such a huge hit.

"It was a whirlwind, we didn't even know what was happening," said Matteo. "It was a first show on cable to really explode. We have set the mold for shows like 'Son of Anarchy,' we paved the way for them. So it's exciting to be a part of history in that way."

The Emmy award-winning actress then revealed that the ending of the hit outlaw motorcycle club series is perfect, since the creator Kurt Sutter leaves a blank canvas to fans so that they can come up with their own ending. Matteo also talked about working with Sagal, who is also known for her role as Peg Bundy in sitcom "Married... with Children."

"I was a huge 'Married... with Children' fan but I don't see her as Peg Bundy cause we are in a whole other realm over there," she said. "She's this you know tough ass bitch, ain't no Peg Bundy there."

Drea de Matteo was promoted as a regular in "SOA," and her role as Jackson "Jax" Teller's estranged wife and the mother of his son Abel Teller is expected to increase, due to the death of Dr. Tara Grace Knowles-Teller, who is murdered by Jax's mother Gemma.

The highly anticipated upcoming Season 7 of "Sons of Anarchy" is set to premiere on FX in September.
