NBA star Jeremy Lin's very own documentary will soon be making its way to theaters. According to reports, a production company has already bought rights to the movie and plans to release it in theaters in October.

Variety reports that Ketchup Entertainment, a film financing and production company based in Los Angeles, has acquired the rights to release "Linsanity" to theaters. The Evan Jackson Leong documentary about the Houston Rockets guard will be released in chosen cinemas Oct. 4.

"The Jeremy Lin doc, which premiered at Sundance, will launch in Boston, Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco along with 10 to 15 other cities," the report notes.

The documentary follows J. Lin's rise to fame -- from his humble beginnings as a kid in Palo Alto, California, to his phenomenal success in 2012 when he joined the New York Knicks and led them to s series of wins.

According to the report by Variety, the film started production in 2010 while Lin was still playing for Harvard University. A review by the website's Justin Chang describes "Linsanity" as a documentary that "energetically recounts Jeremy Lin's astonishing rise to NBA stardom."
