Actress, philanthropist, activist, humanitarian, and producer Eva Longoria was all positivity at this year's Cannes Film Festival in regards to the hope of having a Latino candidate in the future presidential elections.

With the historic election and second term of our nation's first black President Barack Obama, Longoria admits that she's hopeful that a Latino will win the presidential title in the coming years.

"With the demographic changes in the United States, there's definitely, inevitably going to be a Latino president," the actress said on the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival.

Longoria also spoke about her work behind "The Latino Victory Project," an organization and movement that "builds power in the Latino community so that the faces and voices of Latinos are reflected at every level of government and in the policies that drive our country forward," as stated on the official LVP website.

Longoria elaborated that LVP's goal to build power in the Latino community will first start with the organization's selection of people who promote, "a pro-Latino agenda, pro-immigration, pro-education reform, pro-health care" and candidates who are "fighting the fight right now in our politics."

La Opinion reported that Longoria has emphasized her strong political voice long before Hollywood.

In other interviews, it is reported that the former "Desperate Housewives" star spoke about her involvement in politics long before being an actress, but it's now that she has a platform to convey her ideas thanks to her name recognition.

Despite Longoria's efforts and work towards increasing the presence of Latinos in politics, Longoria remains firm that she will not be running for office.

In addition to her political work and humanitarianism, Longoria continues with her work in Hollywood behind the camera. Currently, Longoria is the executive producer of the hit Lifetime series, "Devious Maids," and the insightful fast-food documentary, "Food Chains."
