Juan Manuel Marquez remains undecided about the proposed fifth showdown with Manny Pacquiao, which could take place in November in Macau if both parties reach an agreement.

Marquez knows that a fifth fight against Pacquiao is the most logical choice in terms of possible earnings, but the Mexican boxing icon insisted that he is not yet thinking about the money as he is planning to take a rest before making a decision.

"I believe that first I want to rest and then I'll make a decision," Marquez said via BoxingScene. "The money, as we've always said, is an important point, but thank God that I've had a great career we've been taken off from an economic standpoint, and I can sit here with care or concern to get money."

The 40-year-old Mexican, who is coming off a dominating win over Mike Alvarado, also insisted that money will not be the only factor that he will consider before making a decision about whether or not to fight Pacquiao again.

"There are things I have to see, to make a decision on what's going to happen in the future," Marquez said. "I know there are strong offers for a fifth fight and the economic aspect is good, but I believe that there are things that are more important than that, things that are more of a sentimental value, the value that one carries within."

But if his trainer, Nacho Beristain, will have it his way, he said that he will not allow Marquez to face his Filipino nemesis again.

Beristain told BoxingScene that he is aware of his fighter's desire to win his fifth title in as many division, but the 74-year-old said that Marquez should target another title, and not Pacquiao's WBO welterweight title.

"I do not care who is angry, but I will do everything possible to prevent Juan Manuel Marquez from stepping in the ring with Pacquiao for a fifth time," Beristain said. "I know the desire of Juan Manuel Marquez and myself, to conquer a [world title in a] fifth division, but it should not be against Pacquiao."

Beristain reiterated that Marquez has nothing to prove after scoring a sensational sixth-round knockout win over Pacquiao in their fourth showdown in December 2012.
