Aston Martin earlier announced its collaboration with Red Bull Formula One racing team over a new automatic sports car. However, the name and specifications of the said car were uncertain. Although, certain potential sources have had reported about the car to be codenamed as AM-RB 001. The latest account about the car makes Aston Martin's approach pretty clearer. As per a number of new insights the widely thought AM-RB 001 would be called as Valkyrie.

According to EVO, Valkyrie is a unique name derived from deepest corners mythology. It hints to a woman character who stays responsible for carrying those who died in battle to the mythical afterlife. Alongside this explanation, another point that stands valid for such name is Aston Martin's naming tradition. Aston Martin's supercars' dubbing usually starts with a 'V'. Well-known instances are Vanquish, Volante, and Vantage. While speaking about the company's naming habits, Aston Martin's Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman said: "The Aston Martin Valkyrie is an incredibly special car that demands an equally remarkable name; an uncompromising car that leaves nothing in reserve. The connotations of power and honour, of being chosen by the Gods, are so evocative, and so pertinent to a car that only a fortunate few will ever experience."

As per a report by Digital Trends, Valkyrie is also expected to continue Aston Martin's hybrid lineup trends, besides of carrying forward the naming traditions. The car is expected to sport a 6.5-liter V12 from race-engineering engine alongside an improved battery system. As per Aston's very own declaration, Valkyrie will have a power-to-weight ratio of 1:1. This hints that the car will come with a capacity of one horsepower for each kilogram of weight. This will naturally make the car easy to drive machine delivering race-like performance on road.

Besides all these, the motorsports firm Multimatic is contributing carbon-fiber chassis for Valkyrie ensuring super fast running capability at lesser heating of the front end. However, a disappointing note is that Aston Martin will make only 150 models of Valkyrie. Among these 25 will be track version leaving others in this lineup to be just prototypes.

The supercar is expected to come with a price tag of $3 Million. These are expected to be delivered by 2019.
