For two years of not being on air, the acclaimed anthology crime drama "True Detective" will now come back on HBO with the help of an Emmy-winning writer-producer David Milch. The collaboration between Milch and Pizzolatto has not been yet formalized but has been making some progress behind the scenes towards the new season.

According to Variety, David Milch has known for his unconventional writing style that would probably fit with Pizzolatto, who shows off his impression of "True Detective" Season 1. David Milch's experience being a writer is a key component, though he is not expected to serve as a showrunner of "True Detective."

The upcoming "True Detective" Season 3 has not been yet in a greenlit but there some reports that the concept for Season 3 has been settled and been working on the scripts. HBO has been looking out a way to change the run of the show, as it has been given critical feedback. However, both seasons were able to raise its ratings but Pizzolatto in producing the third season is still unclear.

Entertainment Weekly indicated in a report that Matthew McConaughey, who starred in "True Detective" Season 1 has recently said in the public that he is interested in reprising his role. Meanwhile "True Detective" Season 3 was in Flux, as HBO make a deal to Pizzolatto to keep him at the network until 2018. In addition, Pizzolatto could develop new projects on the future installments of "True Detective."

For now, Pizzolatto is currently producing an HBO series aside from "True Detective," which entitled "Perry Mason" with Robert Downey Jr., but there are no available new developments on the said series. And speaking of long dramas, Milch's long-awaited return of his former show on HBO 2006s "Deadwood" has not been yet made a follow-up to move the miniseries.

The "True Detective" Season 1 is starred with Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. On the second season is starred with Vince Vaughn, Colin Farrell, and Rachel McAdams.
