Tim Tebow is set to start a new career, but the former Heisman Trophy winner is still not yet ready to accept the fact that his NFL career is over.

In an interview with The Tennessean, Tebow, who will be working for ESPN on the SEC Network starting in August, said that he is still hoping to get another shot in the NFL.

Tebow, who trained with the New England Patriots last year before being cut before the start of the season, revealed that he is still keeping himself in shape -- in case a team expresses intention in signing him anytime this offseason.

"I'm training every day and feel like I'm the best that I've ever been," Tebow said. "I still love it, love playing, talking about it, and I'm just excited about whatever the future holds. Who knows what could happen? But I'm excited about it, though."

Tebow spent the first two seasons of his career with the Denver Broncos where he played a total of 23 games before moving to the New York Jets in 2012. The 26-year-old quarterback failed to impress during his stint with Jets, tallying just 39 yards passing and 102 yards rushing.

But while Tebow is still convinced that he has what it takes to make an impact in the professional ranks, analyst Chase Goodbread believes that returning to the NFL is a long shot for the former first-round pick.

Goodbread pointed out that Tebow's window for an NFL comeback is either closed or nearly closed because of his inability to throw accurate passes to complement his athleticism.

"He's 26 years old and hasn't been a full-time NFL starter since the 2011 season -- Tebow's window for a comeback has either closed or is nearly closed," Goodbread said. "And while athleticism is increasingly becoming a more important quality in NFL quarterbacks, accuracy still reigns at the position. Tebow has plenty of the former, but never had enough of the latter."
