"Mistresses" kicked off this week, and it made sure the long break was worth it.

When it returned, we got to meet April's newest love interest, Daniel Zamora, who is played by Ricky Whittle. She even got a late-night consultation with the stud.

Rina Mimoun, who is an executive producer on the series, told TV Guide that April was getting a bit of a break this season.

"I'm going to just say it," Mimoun said. "We felt that poor April was put through the wringer last year between her husband showing up from the dead and the ex-mistress."

April is expected to have "great sex" in the coming episodes.

It was unfortunately not all happy moments for the Season 2 premiere.

Karen visits the gravesite of Samuel Grey, the student she slept with. She's working as an emergency room psychiatrist, so that she can't get too close to her patients. A young woman, Anna, snaps her out of her funk. She inspires her to leave the hospital and go back to working in the private sector.

Joss is meanwhile living at Savi and Harry's home, which is going to be sold. She has dropped real estate and moved on to party planning. She loses a celebrity client, but Joss looks for a regular caterer. Harry says he'll do it, which she's apprehensive about. Savi gives them her blessing.

Savi had a car accident. In the eight months that followed, she finished physical therapy and lost the Dom's baby. She's not sure she wants to return to her law firm, and she learns that Harry is in a new relationship.

For the second episode, April will decide to just go for it and have an affair with Daniel Zamora.

"Meanwhile, Joss and Harry seem to clash over everything when they're hired to throw a lavish party for a wealthy housewife (guest star Krista Allen). Savi returns to the firm and bristles at sharing an office with stunning new attorney Antonia Ruiz (guest star Rebeka Montoya), who appears to have no sense of personal boundaries. And Karen will face some ghosts from her past when she's called upon to testify at Elizabeth Grey's parole hearing," reads the show's description, according to IBT Times.
