Coronavirus continues to swell in the United States as there are an estimated 9,000 individuals who remained not treated due to the lack of access in testing centers or they were told not to be tested because they do not have a travel history.

This problem will lead to a more complicated problem because it raises the risk of a person to be exposed to someone who has COVID-19 symptoms.

According to a recent article, Republican lawmakers Ted Cruz, Mark Meadows, Matt Gaetz, and Doug Collins decided to self-quarantine after they were exposed to a man during the Conservative Political Action Conference who later tested positive for the coronavirus.

It was also reported that before Gaetz and Collins decided to self-quarantine following their exposure, they did a direct contact with President Donald Trump.

However, Texas Representative Louie Gohmert who was also exposed to a man carrying the virus refused to self-quarantine after he was told by his physician that he can go back to work provided that he will observe proper hygiene.

The most alarming part here is Gohmert leads a large group of children which is estimated to be around 100 kids around the capitol. A picture of him leading the children was even posted on social media and was reported in a news outlet. Gohmert claims that he did not shake hands with anyone in attendance.

Even though he was advised by his physician that he can go back to work but the fact remains that he was exposed to a man who was later on COVID-19 positive. It seems that he is not taking the coronavirus outbreak seriously while other Republican lawmakers chose to self-quarantine.

For some, the decision of Gohmert not to isolate himself is not new anymore. It can be recalled that the lawmaker struggled in his scientific consensus position in the past about "Climate Change." He once said that a warmer planet is better because it means "more trees" in 2009 while he also denied that the earth was warming.

Moreover, there is also a great concern because there were at least 5 lawmakers who were exposed during the CPAC. Meanwhile, it was also observed that Gaetz wore a gas mask on the House before he decided to self-quarantine.

If Gohmert will not decide as soon as possible to self-quarantine, it will be riskier in the upcoming days if he will be showing signs of COVID-19 symptoms. It will create a more complicated problem because authorities need to track all persons whom Gohmert made direct contact with.

For some Republican lawmakers who decided to self-quaratine, they are showing how they are taking the problem seriously. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump did not yet take a coronavirus test even though he was exposed to two lawmakers who are now in self-quarantine. Though, Trump is not showing any signs of COVID-19 symptoms.
