The newest trailer for the upcoming Pokémon remakes was released, and its release date has been confirmed for later this year.

"Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" are the latest remakes of the Pokémon franchise. The first trailer released in May revealed little about the new sixth-generation games for the Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo 2DS systems. With only the cover art and video games' names confirmed, fans wanted more.

In time with the 2014 E3 convention, Nintendo announced and provided updates for several upcoming games. Luckily, one was for the "Pokémon Ruby Version" and "Pokémon Sapphire Version" remakes.

The second trailer premiered on Tuesday featuring a boy on an adventure. With a map in hand, he journeyed into a cave featuring sketchings of the Hoenn region's legendary Pokémon. The trailer comes alive to show a few legendary Pokémon from the region as well as improved graphics.

With the new games, it was confirmed Mega Evolutions will continue its presence following its debut in last year's "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" games. While Hoenn starter Torchic received the ability to Mega Evolve since last year's games, it was only time for Mudkip and Treecko to follow the trend. With the new trailer, Mudkip and Treecko's final evolutions, Swampert and Sceptile respectively, will Mega Evolve. Several Pokémon introduced in the original third-generation games were already able to Mega Evolve, including Absol, Aggron, Banette, Blaziken, Gardevoir, Manectric, Mawile and Medicham. The Pokémon Company International hinted more Mega Evolutions might be discovered in the Hoenn region.

Characters from the Hoenn region have also received slight makeovers. The protagonists of the new games will maintain their attire from the original versions, except the clothing appears tighter than before. Criminal organizations Team Magma and Team Aqua will make their comeback with leaders Archie and Maxie still in control of their respective groups. Steven Stone, the Pokémon league champion from the original games, will reappear. It's unknown if he'll maintain the champion title in the remakes or if the role would be given to Water-type specialist Wallace. Stone, coincidentally, will have a role about Mega Evolutions, which requires stones for the new feature to happen in battle.

Meanwhile, legends Groudon and Kyogre will maintain their key roles in the games' storyline. The Hoenn legends will also receive new forms, but it is unknown if it'll be Mega Evolutions or alterations similar to Giratina in the "Pokémon Platinum Version" and the Forces of Nature trio from the "Pokémon Black 2 Version" and "Pokémon White 2 Version." What is confirmed is the term for the new forms for Groudon and Kyogre: Primal Reversion.

"Primal Groudon is brimming with energy, which pours from its body as magma," noted a statement from The Pokémon Company International. "The magma burns at such an extreme temperature that its body is always shimmering ruby red from the haze of its heat, giving off light in the darkness. Through Primal Reversion, Primal Groudon becomes much larger and adds Fire type to its Ground type, raising the power of Fire-type moves it can learn. Primal Reversion greatly boosts Primal Groudon's Attack. Its Ability may get a boost during this epic transformation, too."

For Primal Kyorgre, the Water-type Pokémon is twice the size of normal Kyogre.

"[Kyogre] is awash with energy that spills from its body as seawater. Its blue skin shines like a sapphire and is half-translucent like the sea. Primal Reversion greatly boosts Primal Kyogre's Special Attack. Its Ability also seems to get a boost, although this information cannot yet be confirmed," added The Pokémon Company International.

"Pokémon Omega Ruby" and "Pokémon Alpha Sapphire" will be released on Nov. 21.

The original versions were the best-selling games ever for the Game Boy Advance, with 16 million units sold worldwide, which at the time was more than the 14 million sold for "Pokémon Gold Version" and "Pokémon Silver Version" but considerably down from "Pokémon Red Version" and "Pokémon Blue Version's" 27 million sold.
