2. Chivito Steak Sandwich

Set aside your fast-food favorites. If you are craving a big burger, try your chances in making this famous steak sandwich of Uruguay.

Chivito is everyday street food in Uruguay. This is sometimes known as the "hamburger" of Uruguay. But with Chivito, you get the real steak rather than the grounded beef.

All you need in making this are steak, cheese, tomatoes, mayonnaise, black or green olives, bacon, hard-boiled eggs, ham, and a bun.

3.Provoleta

Who does not love cheese? Provoleta is an Argentine cheese variant that is usually eaten grilled.

This dish is usually served in Argentina and Uruguay. It can also be seasoned with chimichurri and paired with bread.

You can have your Provoleta stuffed with different fillings. This could be ham, barbecue sausage, blood sausage, cheese, and vegetables.

4. Ajiaco Colombiano

Sometimes all you need is a big bowl of hot and hearty soup when you are sick or hungover. What heals better a  lousy feeling than chicken soup. 

Ajiaco is  popular in Colombia, Cuba, and Peru. Food experts are still in a debate where this delicacy originates.

Ajiaco is usually made with chicken, three types of potatoes, and the herb guascas. Capers, avocado slices, and corn on the cob can be added.

In Cuba, Ajiaco is made from beef, pork, chicken, vegetables, and different starchy roots. Peru takes the chicken soup by mixing dried yellow and red chilies, hierba buena, and huacatay.

5. Pescado Encocado

Who said you can not enjoy your meals without meat? This dish is about to prove you wrong.

Pescado Encocado is an Ecuadorian dish that is made with white fish meats. Examples of these are corvina, cod, tilapia, and halibut. This dish also uses coconut milk. While citrus juices are used to marinate the fish.

This dish is best paired with rice and fried ripe plantains. Even better when that rice is soaked with the dish's rich sauce.

6. Rellenitos de Plátano

Plantains are always the main star in every Latin-American dish. Almost anything can be partnered with plantains. Even a dessert can be made with plantains. Just like Rellenitos de Platano.

Rellenitos de Plátano is Guatemalan street food. This dish is made with mashed plantains stuffed with beans, chocolate, and cinnamon.

Rellenitos de Platano is deep-fried and served with a sprinkle of powdered sugar or poured with honey on top.
