Despite the previous cancellation claims earlier this week, Jennifer Lopez will certainly perform at the 2014 FIFA World Cup's opening ceremony on Thursday, June 12.

Lopez insisted in a recent interview with The Associated Press that she was flying to Brazil on Tuesday night, June 10. "I'm coming. I leave tonight," she said. "We always were going."

"I think people get anxious, especially with me and my schedule when I'm like, 'Ah, OK, I can leave this day, that day, I don't know if we can make it,'" she continued. "People get nervous and I think it was a little bit premature to announce anything. But we are definitely going."

J. Lo will be kicking off the highly anticipated football tournament with the official anthem "We Are One (Ole Ola)" along with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, before Brazil takes on Croatia in the opening game in Sao Paulo. The exciting track is the lead single off Sony's World Cup 2014 album, and follows Shakira's massive 2010 smash hit "Waka Waka," which has sold 1.7 million digital downloads since the last World Cup.

Jennifer Lopez added that the song was actually created by her frequent collaborator Pitbull, who teamed up with her on "On the Floor" and "Dance Again." She recalled how the Miami rapper asked her to join him on the track. "I can't take credit for this. This was one of Pitbull's call-ins," she revealed. "He had this record and he's like, 'I think this record could be great for the World Cup.' He's like, 'Will you do it with me?' and I go, 'Yeah, of course.'"

Mr. Worldwide recently spoke about the expected impact of music on the upcoming game. "I truly believe that this great game and the power of music will help unify us, because we are best when we are one," said Pitbull.
