Following a disorganized and disputed campaign for the presidential position, rapper Kanye West has conceded defeat.

West received roughly 60,000 votes from a dozen states, according to the national election results tabulated by the Associated Press. The vote counts made West's ultimate impact on the race exceedingly small. 

PEOPLE reported that the results were unsurprising, given the rapper's late entry into the race and followed by a haphazard campaign.

It became clear that Kanye West would receive very low vote counts as the results began rolling in. the designer went on Twitter again, alluding to another potential campaign for 2024. 

On the 4th of July, Kanye West first announced his candidacy. Later, he said that he would run as an independent candidate under the so-called "Birthday Party" banner.

West's vague platform promised to "reduce household debt" and restore prayer in schools.

His platform appeared on his campaign website with his Lanye-branded merchandise, such as $60 baseball hats and $160 hoodies. However, the actual policy side of West's campaign seemed to lack details.

Kanye had his interview with Forbes in July, wherein he brushed over the political and social issues that the nation faces. He suggested bringing more "fun" back to the White House. 

"When I'm president, let's also have some fun. Let's get past all the racism, let's empower people with 40 acres and a mule, let's give some land, that's the plan," West said.

West won't give up

Although Kanye West has conceded in the 2020 presidential election, the rapper and designer does not give up his dream to be the next US president and look forward to the 2024 election.

Many interpreted Kanye's tweets as an admission of defeat against Joe Biden and Donald Trump. But West will try his luck again for the presidency after the next four years. 

Following his tweet, Kanye received different responses from his critics, followers, and fans. Many opposed West's plans while others supported him, as per the IBT

Despite the backlash, several followers believe in West's ability to run the country. Some of his supporters guaranteed that they would vote for West again. 

Meanwhile, one Twitter user also defended Kanye by saying that he is not just a musician, as he is a "true self-made billionaire." West's supporter added that the rapper and designer have empathy for those mistakenly driving their health system.

The Twitter user added that Kanye West has been transparent about himself the entire campaign. 

Across 12 states, West has received 60,000 votes as of Wednesday evening, and 10,188 of those votes are from Tennessee.
