A recent poll by The Washington Post found that 27 Republicans in the House and Senate would commit to a Biden win, a result that surprised President Donald Trump.

The survey asked all Republicans in Congress and, as of Saturday afternoon, some 220 of them refused to say who won the election.

President Trump said he was surprised to see "so many" congressional Republicans believe that Biden won the election and demanded to see a list of those who thought so, reported Fox News.

Earlier, only 25 Republicans though Biden beat Trump in the presidential race.

Of that initial 25 people, 11 came from the 52 GOP Senators while 14 were from the 197 GOP House members, reported Business Insider.

Trump reacted by tweeting: "25, wow! I am surprised there are so many. We have just begun to fight," he said, asking for a list of the "25 RINOS."

The survey was conducted by a team of 25 reporters for the Post.

They contacted aides for every Republican but email and phone asking these questions: who won the presidency, do they support Trump's efforts to claim victory and whether they accept Biden as a legitimately elected president if he gets most of the Electoral College votes.

Public statements made by the lawmakers in the recent weeks were also used to determine their stance on Biden's supposed win.

The results of this survey showed how strongly the president values loyalty within the party, with many members refusing to enrage Trump and his allies, especially as he is teasing a possible 2024 run.

8 Republicans Support Trump's Strategy to Win

According to the poll, eight Republicans supported Trump's strategy in winning the election while nine of them opposed, reported Breitbart.

Some prominent names have mixed responses to the president's legal efforts.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, for example, dodged questions about claims of widespread voter fraud this week and refused to comment on the matter.

Instead, he told reporters that "[t]he future will take care of itself."

Meanwhile, former presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway cast doubt on Trump's legal efforts.

She pointed out that, given the vote total in the tally, it "looks like" Joe Biden and Democratic vice presidential nominee will prevail.

She assumed electoral will likely certify the results in the Democrats' favor, making the Biden-Harris tandem official in the White House.

Most Republican Lawmakers Refuse to 'Accept' Biden as President

Similarly, only 30 lawmakers in Congress said they will accept as the "legitimately elected president of the United States."

On Thursday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy dodged questions about whether he will fight executive orders by Biden if he does get his first days in the White House.

He wanted to wait until Biden was sworn into the presidency before he would answer such questions.

On Thanksgiving, President Trump issued a promise that he will step out of the White House if the Electoral College voted for Biden.

He admitted that conceding the election will be a "very hard thing" for him to do since he believes the election was unfairly riddled with fraud.
