Buffalo Bills earned their first playoff victory on Saturday since 1995 or after 24 years after they defeated the Indianapolis Colts in a wildcard game.

Buffalo Bills Earned First Playoff Victory After 24 Years

After 24 years, the Buffalo Bills finally earned its first playoff victory. The last time the Bills won its first playoff game was on 30 December 1995 in a match against Miami. The Bills overthrew the opposing team with a score of 37-22 but since then, the Bills had no chance of winning in the playoff game.

On Saturday, the Buffalo Bills defeated the Indianapolis in a score of 27-24 and it marked their first playoff game victory since 1995, according to a published report in FOX News. The Bills will also know their next playoff opponent on Sunday.

The Bills was able to control NFL veteran player Philip Rivers and his offensive plays at the end of the game. The Indianapolis Colts needed a big drive to either tie or win the game. However, Colts lost after Rivers threw the ball to Zach Pascal and the wide receiver fumbled.

The replay of the game showed that Pascal was apparently touched as his knee was on the ground and it gave the Colts another shot. But the Colts failed to get into the field goal range. The last-second attempt of Rivers did not also make it into the end zone leading and it led to the victory of the Buffalo Bills.

The playoff game on Saturday of Buffalo Bills was a "Do-or-Die" game but players did their best to get the spot and won its first AFC East title in 25 years. There were many players on the field who were credited in the team's victory against the Colts.

Josh Allen was 26-for-35 with 324 yards and two touchdown passes. It was also his first playoff win. His two touchdowns were from Dawson Knox and the other one was from Stefon Diggs. Additionally, Diggs led all receivers with six catches for 128 yards and the score.

Moreover, Gabriel Davis had four catches for 85 yards and made an incredible toe-tap catch on the Bills' final drive of the first half.

Indianapolis Colts' Veteran Player Philip Rivers Got Emotional

If there is one thing that Buffalo Bills nearly forced the team into a turnover or could even lead to their loss, it was when the team was not able to sack Rivers. For the veteran player, he had a game similar to what many have seen throughout his entire career.

However, Philip Rivers got emotional after they lost on Saturday. The 39-yea-old veteran player wraps up his 17th NFL season and it was reported that it could be his last game. It is still not clear what he will d next but there are speculations that he will retire after this season.

Philip Rivers has made 63,440 passing yards and 421 passing touchdowns in his entire career. He also ranks among the top five in both statistical categories. He has also seen playing 11 playoff games but only made the AFC Championship once.
