New Orleans Saints Alvin Kamara Might Miss Some Games

The New Orleans Saints is one of the affected teams in the NFL due to the global pandemic. This time, they might lose their running back Alvin Kamara and will be out for at least Week 17 after he tested positive for the infectious and deadly COVID-19.

Kamara has been one of the reliable players of the New Orleans Saints. He was able to contribute six rushing touchdowns on Christmas Day. He is also a premier player playmaker in the Saints offense as a ball-carrier and pass-catcher.

According to Yard Barker, it is still not clear if Alvin Kamara will be seen playing in action to begin the postseason.

The Saints also officially announced that they were placing Kamara on the reserve or COVID-19 list. Additionally, ESN's Adam Schefter reported that the placement was due to a positive test result.

Adam Schefter posted on his social media account and wrote: "After mixed test results, Alvin Kamara had a positive test confirmed this afternoon, per source. He now goes on Reserve/COVID with his postseason status in question."

He also added "Saints' RB Alvin Kamara tested positive again and will be placed on Reserve/COVID, per source. He's out Sunday and now the question will be whether he reruns for the first playoff game."

Who Will Replace Alvin Kamara?

This is a crucial game for the New Orleans Saints as they are now heading in Week 17 and playoff games. It is now presumed that Latavius Murray might take over Kamara as the lead back in the team. However, he is not the same threat out of the backfield in the passing game as Alvin Kamara.

Meanwhile, the team is still expected to play at their best because their head coach and play-caller Sean Payton have grown accustomed to altering the play of the team this season after a couple of their players missed some games mostly because of reported injuries.

It can be remembered that the team's legendary quarterback Drew Brees missing extended time due to injury and Taysom Hill starting in his place.

Following this, Alvin Kamara has become the team's reliable player on the field that Payton can count on.

Kamara racked up 932 yards rushing on 187 carries (five yards per tote) with 16 touchdowns, and had a ridiculous 83 receptions for 756 yards and five additional scores, according to a published report. Despite this, Alvin Kamara needs to patiently wait until he clears NFL protocols to return to the game.
