Prince Harry and Megan Markle have announced that they are expecting their second children together.

A spokesperson for the couple said that they can confirm that Archie is going to have a brother.

"The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child," a spokesperson for the couple was quoted on a Fox News report.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed to Fox News that they are having their first baby together in May 2019. They welcomed their first child Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Harrison.

After Archie was born, the two announced that they were stepping back from their duties as senior royals. With the announcement, came their new residence in the state of California together.

Meghan, 39, and Harry, 36, shared the incoming of a new member of their family on Valentine's Day with a black and white photo showing Meghan laying under tree with her head on Harry's lap. The picture was also showing the apparent baby bump.

Photographer Misan Harriman said in a tweet that he was there to witness their love story, adding that he is honored to capture it.

"Congratulations to The Duke and Duchess of Sussex on this joyous news!" Harriman wrote on his Twitter account.

Meanwhile, a Buckingham spokesman said that the entire family are delighted and wished them well, according to an AFP News report.

The child will be a member of the British royal family but is likely to be American born now that the couple are living in Santa Barbara County in California. This is close to where Markle was born and raised.

The new Sussex baby will be the 10th or 11th great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, according to a USA Today report.

Their daughter Princess Eugenie gave birth to her first child, a boy on Feb. 9.

The couple's second child will be the eight in line to the throne, which is just behind Archie and Harry following his Cambridge cousins, who are Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2.

The second Sussex baby is unlikely to get a title from the queen, just as the case of Archi. Harry and Meghan turned down the title that is set to be bestowed upon Archie.

Meghan's Miscarriage

In July, the Duchess suffered a miscarriage, which she revealed in a column she wrote for The New York Times, with a title "The Losses We Share." She retold her experience, describing the tragedy that struck on a morning that started as ordinarily as any other day.

The couple declined to allow pictures of the baby before Archie's christening ceremony. This break with royal custom infuriated the British tabloid media, which worsened an already tense relationship.

This led to the couple announcing in January 2020 that they were stepping away from their senior royal roles and moving to North America to pursue more freedom, privacy, and financial independence.

The couple already signed high-price deals with Netflix and Spotify to produce their own entertainment content and podcasts.
