Authorities are now looking for the individual who shot and killed pro golfer Gene Siller at a country club situated north of Atlanta on Saturday.

A Shot at the Golf Community

Based on the news release from the police department, the Cobb County police responded to a report of an individual shot at around 2:20 p.m. When they arrived at the scene they have identified and found Siller on the green of the 10th hole of the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw. Siller was with two other individuals who were also found dead at the country club.

The police stated that the pro golfer, who was also a club employee, was found dead at the scene. Authorities added that Siller was unresponsive with an apparent gunshot wound on his head.

According to Canberra Times, the Georgia section of the Professional Golfers' Association of America posted a message online that they were stricken by a tragedy. The section also added that because of the loss of their member, Gene Siller, they shared their thoughts and prayers to the pro golfers' family and the Pinetree Country Club family.

Meanwhile, a member of the club shared that the suspect had driven to the green in a white Ram 3500 pickup truck and shot the 41-year-old Siller when he went to see what was going on. The club member stated that the suspect then fled, WXIA reported.

The police mentioned in the press release that they have discovered the truck still on the green and found bodies of two men in the bed of the truck. Both of the victims also suffered apparent gunshot wounds which caused their deaths.

One of the men was identified as Paul Pierson, the registered owner of the vehicle Ram 3500. However, the police were not yet able to identify the other victim.

Moreover, authorities are still searching for the suspect, who has not been identified. Students at Kennesaw State University, whose campus is close to the country club, received an alert regarding the incident from the university's Emergency Management online account.

On the other hand, the Georgia State Golf Association expressed its condolences on the death of Siller. The association stated that all of them at the GSGA were deeply saddened by the tragic events that happened at Pinetree Country Club. The Pinetree Country Club stated that Siller left behind a wife and two children, with ages 6 and 7, NBC News reported.

The President of PGA of America, Jim Richerson also issued a statement regarding the death of pro golfer Gene Siller. Richerson stated that they were truly heartbroken when they heard about the senseless murder that took place at the Pine Tree Country Club in Georgia. The PGA America president stated that the shooting incident took the life of PGA member Gene Siller. PGA of America sent their thoughts, prayers, and deepest sympathy to the family, club, and the Georgia PGA community.

The family of pro golfer Gene Siller set up a GoFundMe page to help with finances.
