Conor McGregor, aka "The Notorious," announced that he wants to fight Manny "Pac Man" Pacquiao instead of Dustin Poirier. Pacquiao, who is well-known as Pac-Man, still hasn't made any comment regarding the invitation, especially since he is currently acting as one of the politicians in the Philippines.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor poses on the scale during his weigh-in for UFC 202 at MGM Grand Conference Center on August 19, 2016 in Las Vegas, Nevada. McGregor will meet Nate Diaz in a welterweight rematch on August 20, 2016, at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Despite Pac-Man's loss by unanimous decision against Floyd Mayweather Jr. back in 2015, many fighters in the boxing world, including the MMA industry, want to face him since he is still considered the champion.

On the other hand, many sports analysts and critics claimed that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is only a "paper" champ since all the judges during that fight favor him. This could also be the reason why McGregor doesn't take his loss against Mayweather Jr. that seriously.

Conor McGregor Vs. Pacquiao: Will It Really Happen?

According to ESPN's latest report, it seems like Conor MacGregor is looking down on Dustin Poirier, who is currently on the number one spot of UFC lightweight rankings. Despite his great fight history, McGregor still doesn't take him seriously. Or is he also afraid?

"I pitied the man. I was looking past him. I had a Manny Pacquiao camp in place," said McGregor in his latest interview.

"I am a nice guy. It's just about not translating it into the game. You can't be nice in this business. No matter what. ... In the most ruthless business of all, I am the most ruthless," added the MMA fighter.

McGregor even explained that he had no choice but to leave his family behind to train in his camp for his alleged fight against the Filipino boxer. This just shows how determined he is right now to go toe-to-toe against Pac-Man.

When it comes to Poirier's case, MMA Fighting reported that McGregor is also determined at first, saying that he will leave the fighter in a stretcher on his way out of the fighting arena. He added that he will badly bash his face until it is "blank." McGregor and Poirier already faced each other in UFC 178 back in 2014. However, McGregor completely lost against the champ after Poirier pulled off a perfect 1st round knockout.

But now, his main focus is Manny Pacquiao. On the other hand, the Filipino boxer still hasn't commented regarding McGregor's intention because of his political agenda in the Philippines. Right now, the best thing is to wait for the announcements of both opposing parties.

Can I Boxer and MMA Fighter Fight Each Other?

MMA fighters and other martial artists can fight professional boxers. This was already seen way back in Mohammad Ali's prime after he faced Antonio Inoki, an iconic Japanese pro wrestler.

However, boxing is quite different from other types of fighting styles since it has lots of limitations. Compared to MMA fighting, boxers can only use their hands to hit their enemies while MMA pros can use their fists and feet, as explained by Sports Casting

However, it seems like the ones adjusting to the arena are MMA pros since McGregor's recent fight against Mayweather forced him to wear gloves. Aside from this, MMA pros are also at a disadvantage since they are not trained well to last more than five rounds in the ring.
