"Fifty Shades of Grey" fans everywhere are celebrating Christian Grey's birthday and another teaser from the upcoming movie adaptation of the erotic novel.

According to E.L. James' book, today is the fictional S&M-loving billionaire's birthday. In order to properly celebrate, the official "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie Facebook page uploaded a brand new picture of Jamie Dornan in character as Christian.

"Happy Birthday Christian Grey #FiftyShades," the picture's simple caption said.

James has also been sending Christian birthday wishes via Twitter.

"Happy Birthday Christian Grey :)," she tweeted with a link to the Facebook photo.

The author has also retweeted various tweets from others wishing Christian a great day.

Today, James is at a gala in London, celebrating diversity in Britain's film and television industry, Variety reports. An auction will be held at the event to benefit students at the National Film and Television School, James' alma mater. The author donated tickets to the Los Angeles premiere of the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie, complete with a roundtrip-flight via Virgin Atlantic, a three night stay at the Cheateau Marmont Hotel and a copy of the book autographed by the movie's cast.

Last week, Duncan Clark, Universal Studios' international distribution president, briefly talked about the "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie ahead of the CineEurope festival.

"The books are an enormous asset, and we are seeing an incredible response whenever any of our publicity or promotional materials are exposed," he said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Stephen Colbert, host of Comedy Central's "Colbert Report," also made a non-birthday related shoutout to the erotic tale while attacking Amazon on his show last week.

"Because of Amazon's scorched-earth tactics, more people are getting screwed than in 'Fifty Shades of Grey,'" he said.

"Fifty Shades of Grey" hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015. In addition to Dornan, it stars Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, Victor Rasuk as Jose Rodriguez and Rita Ora as Mia Grey. It is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, and James is a producer.
