U.S. President Joe Biden on Monday confirmed that Russian President Vladimir Putin utilized a hypersonic missile due to the strength of the Ukrainian forces.

According to The Daily Mail, Biden made his comments after Kremlin claimed that the Russian military used their state-of-the-art military hardware to take out a Ukrainian weapons storage facility.

"And if you notice, they've just launched their hypersonic missile, because it's the only thing that they can get through without absolute certainty," Biden said about Putin's forces. The president then added that the missile is almost impossible to stop.

Military experts have also questioned why the Russians would use the hypersonic missile. The Daily Mail noted that the missile Biden claimed Russia used was known to fly 10 times the speed of sound and can avoid air defenses.

President Biden also said that Vladimir Putin may resort to tactics with "greater severity," claiming that the back of Russia's president is "against the wall."
