Johnny Depp concluded his testimony in his defamation trial against Amber Heard in a Fairfax, Virginia court Monday, with a declaration that he is the victim of domestic abuse and not his ex-wife.

According to CNN, Depp was cross-examined by Heard's attorney, Ben Rottenborn, during his fourth day on the stand. Rottenborn asked Depp if his client was the only person who had a problem regarding his alcohol abuse.

The actor then replied that if anyone had a problem with his drinking at any time in his life, it was him.

"The only person I've abused in my life is myself," Depp said.

The actor then remained on the stand for a redirect examination from his attorney, Jessica Meyers. They tried to reclaim the narrative after several days of cross-examination, in which Heard's camp barraged the jury with audio and texts of the actor using profane language and in angry outbursts, Deadline reported.

During redirect, the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor explained that some of the evidence by Heard's attorney, like the texts, were meant to be "irreverent" or based on Monty Python movies.

Depp noted that he usually handles a "difficult or unpleasant situation" with humor, or he would leave the room or their house.

When the actor's lawyer asked him how he felt in the final days of their marriage, Depp said he was "being nailed in one stop and not being able to do anything" but react to Heard screaming "like a Banshee and then telling me to calm down."

"I was broken, really at the end, couldn't take it anymore... No one deserves to live like that," Depp noted.

Meyers also played a 2016 recording of a conversation between Depp and Heard about regaining her reputation after reports of abuse in their relationship had been made public.

"The abuse thing we gotta deal with that," Depp said at one point in the recording. Heard then replied: "You forced me to by going on the offense."

Meyers asked Depp about his response when Heard said, "Tell the world, Johnny. Tell them, Johnny Depp, I, Johnny Depp, a man, I'm a victim, too, of domestic violence?"

Depp responded: "I said, 'Yes. I am'."

Ireland Baldwin Says Amber Heard a 'Terrible Person' Amid Johnny Depp's Defamation Case

Amid Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's defamation trial, American model Ireland Baldwin took to Instagram to criticize the actress, calling her a "terrible person."

"The thing is, I know women who are exactly like this... They are manipulative and cold and they use their very womanhood to play the victim and turn the world against the man," Baldwin said in a since-expired Instagram story, as reported by Page Six.

Baldwin went on to say that we live in "a society where it's cool to say men are all the worst." The model then said that men can also experience abuse before she called Heard an "absolute disaster of a human being."

"I hope Johnny gets his reputation and his life back. And I hope he's in like 5 more Pirates movies," Baldwin noted.

Johnny Depp vs. Amber Heard Defamation Case

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard are battling over a 2018 op-ed the actress wrote for the Washington Post, calling herself a domestic violence survivor.

The piece did not mention Depp by name, but the actor claimed he was booted from the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise due to the "clear implication" that he was the abuser in his ex-wife's op-ed.

Depp further alleged that Heard was the actual "perpetrator" of the violent encounters that damaged their relationship. He is asking for $50 million in damages.

On the other hand, Heard has filed a $100 million counterclaim against the actor, who she divorced in 2017, for nuisance.

Amber Heard will also be taking the stand in the trial. She is expected to give testimony in the next week or so. The defamation trial is expected to last six weeks.
