Elon Musk has received a land offer in Texas to move Twitter headquarters from California to Texas after his $44 billion purchase of Twitter.

One Texas man issued the proposal to Musk, giving the Tesla CEO free land just outside Austin, Texas, according to a Sacramento Bee News report.

Texas man Jim Schwertner tweeted the offer to Musk, saying that they will give the millionaire 100 acres for free.

Schwertner is the president and CEO of Schwertner Farms, saying he envisions Twitter moving to Texas as a "win-win for everybody."

He noted that they think it is a good idea, especially since Samsung will be coming to Taylor. He added that the area is "exploding" and they want to be part of the explosive growth.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott also supports Schwertner's offer, previously calling on Musk to move Twitter's headquarters to Texas.

Abbott said of Schwertner's proposal of land that he will declare it a "Free Speech Zone," further suggesting that they can rename it "Twitter, Texas."

Twitter Headquarters

It will not be the first time that Musk will be moving to the Lone Star State should he decide to establish the Twitter headquarters in the area.

Musk moved the headquarters for Tesla from Palo Alto, California to Austin, Texas, according to a Breitbart News report.

Meanwhile, Musk has yet to comment on the Texas land offer that he got from Schwertner.

Industry analysts and Austin-area tech officials noted that it is not far from possible to think that Musk might move the company's headquarters from San Francisco to Austin, according to an Austin American-Statesman report.

The Tesla tycoon also moved the headquarters of his tunneling and infrastructure company, the Boring Company, to Central Texas.

Dan Ives, an analyst with Wedbush Securities, said that the likely deal will result in a "significant Twitter presence" in Texas once Musk acquires Texas.

Ives said that it is all part of the Musk structure. He added that he thinks Musk is more comfortable in Austin than in California.

Mark Arend, editor-in-chief of Site Selection Magazine, said that there could be benefits to the possible move, noting that Austin has a big labor pool and plenty of room to build new facilities.

Elon Musk's Twitter Bid

Musk noted that he wanted to improve Twitter with new features, making its algorithms open source "to increase trust," defeat spambots, as well as to authenticate the accounts of humans, according to a San Francisco Chronicle report.

Musk said in a tweet that he hopes that his worst critics remain on Twitter as that is what free speech means.

Some tech executives welcomed Musk's ownership while others raised concerns.

Musk's calls for free speech could suggest a reversal of the ban of former U.S. President Donald Trump on the social media platform.

Musk also earlier expressed skepticism around remote work.

Twitter leases its headquarters space that is currently owned by JPMorgan Chase and Shorenstein, which was formerly Western Furniture Exchange and Merchandise Mart.
