Police found the body of a missing 93-year-old Florida mom inside a large freezer following a welfare check at her home last week.

According to The Daily Mail, cops identified the elderly mom as Marie Hoskins of Sebastian, Florida. CBS News reported that the discovery of Hoskins' body came after her neighbors got concerned about not seeing her for "an extended period of time."

The Sebastian Police Department said a concerned neighbor called the police after the Florida mom had not been seen for several days. However, the officers could not contact the elderly woman as her home phone number was disconnected.

Florida Mom's Daughter Becomes a Suspect

After failing to get in touch with the Florida mom, Sebastian police said officers were able to get a key to her house along Paddock Street off Schumann Drive from a relative who lives out of town.

When police arrived at her home on Thursday, New York Post reported that no one answered the door despite several attempts.

Once inside the home, police found the Florida mom's 64-year-old daughter, Michelle Hoskins, who told them she had not seen her mom in some time. Police said Michelle was also living in the house.

Unsatisfied with Michelle's answer, the cops checked the rest of the house in an attempt to locate the elderly mom. Police found Hoskins' body "inside a large freezer in the garage."

The cops said the daughter voluntarily went to the police station for questioning. Police then obtained a warrant, removed the elderly woman's body, and collected "other evidence."

According to reports, Michelle Hoskins has yet to be charged as of Monday night. A cause of death has also not yet been released.

The Sebastian Police Department said detectives were actively working with the medical examiner and the state attorney's office on this case which is still active at this time.

In an interview with Sebastian Daily, Captain Timothy Wood described the Florida mom's daughter as a "suspect" in the case. 

In a separate interview, Wood told WPTV that police officers investigating the case had an "odd feeling" about the elderly woman's disappearance.

Who Is Florida Mom Marie Hoskins?

Marie Hoskins worked as a supervisor at the Kennedy Space Center during the 1960s, according to a neighbor's Facebook page.

The elderly woman reportedly bought the home in Sebastian, Florida in 2006 and lived there with professional musician George Vannoy, who died in March 2019 at 86 years old.

It was unclear what relationship Hoskins and Vannoy share. According to reports, the Florida mom previously lived in Cocoa Beach, Florida, before moving to Sebastian.
