The NFL has revealed their international game schedules on Wednesday, noting that the first game will be in Germany.

Meanwhile, the Arizona Cardinals' opponent for the NFL's fifth game will be in Mexico City, as reported by Yahoo Sports News.

The first three games will be played in London, with the league playing in London in 2007.

Minnesota Vikings will be playing against New Orleans Saints at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 2. New York Giants against Green Bay Packers will also be at the same venue on October 9.

Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can hold around 62,000 people.

Meanwhile, Denver Broncos against Jacksonville Jaguars will be held at Wembley Stadium on October 30. The stadium can hold a capacity of 90,000.

It will be the first time that NFL will be playing in Germany. It will also be the first four games that will be played in Germany over the next four seasons.

The inaugural Germany game in 2022 will feature the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks.

Meanwhile, the Mexico game will be NFL's fourth time playing in the country.

In 2005, the Cardinals played in the first Mexico City games in 2006, with them returning for the second time to play the San Francisco 49ers at the tail end of Week 11.

NFL in Mexico 2022: Cardinals and 49ers

The Cardinals will now play eight 2022 regular-season games at State Farm Stadium in Glendale. The play in Mexico City will be a neutral-site game, according to a AZ Central News report.

The Cardinals earned a 31-14 win over the 49ers at Estadio Azteca in front of a crowd of 103,467 in 2005.

It was the team's first game in Mexico, as well as NFL's first regular-season game held outside the United States.

The Cardinals' game in Mexico City in 2022 will be also held at Estadio Azteca.

The stadium had also hosted the Patriots-Raiders in 2017, as well as the Texans-Raiders game in 2016.

NFL International Game Series

Pro Football Network noted that the NFL international series has become a regular part of the league's calendar. The game history dates back more than 15 seasons.

The most notable of the international series was called the "American Bowl," which started in 1896. The earliest recorded football game was played on foreign soil in 1950.

NFL has also played its international series in Canada, with the Buffalo Bills starting playing one regular-season game per season in Toronto in 2008.

Since the creation of the NFL international series, 28 games were played in London, three in Mexico City.

Wembley hosted one game a year for the first six seasons.

The NFL planned just two international series games for the first time in 2013. Its number increased back to five international game series in 2922.

Teams are then able to volunteer to give up additional home games in other years, which the Jaguars did in the 2022 season.
