PSG star Lionel Messi made another history for Argentina on Sunday night after he scored all five goals, thrashing Estonia during their match in Finalissima.

Messi's goal made another streak in Argentina's win following their victory against Italy at Wembley Stadium last week, per Mirror.

According to The Athletic, Messi became the first Argentine to score five goals in a game since 1942. Furthermore, he is also the first player in history to make five goals in both championships and international competitions.

Messi's first strike was complete in the 47th minute. He then added another two strikes during the 71st and 76th minutes to reach five goals.

Reports claimed that Messi's goal against Estonia made him the fourth-highest goal scorer in the history of men's international football, as he scored 86 goals for Argentina.

Messi's skills and gameplay against Estonia were lauded by several big names in the football world.

Former England striker Gary Lineker called Messi "The Messiah" after his performance in the Finalissima.

"Astonishingly, it's not his goal scoring that elevates him from the other greats. He's also as good a passer and dribbler as anyone that's ever played the game," Lineker said.

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni also praised Messi in an interview after their game against Estonia. Scaloni noted that he gained pleasure in training with Messi and having him on their team. The Argentina coach also called Messi the "heritage of football," contending that the PSG star will be missed if he doesn't play anymore.
