Lin-Manuel Miranda has been widely recognized for playing the titular role of founding father Alexander Hamilton in the record-breaking musical "Hamilton."

Miranda wrote, composed, and won the Pulitzer Prize for the musical. He is a multi-award-winning performer with an extensive list of Broadway and film titles.

Miranda, raised in New York City to parents of Puerto Rican heritage, started writing musicals in high school. Hamilton earned him his largest paycheck, being the show's composer, lyricist, and one of its original cast members.

Miranda worked as an English teacher at his old high school Hunter College after graduating from Wesleyan University in 2002.

According to The List, the actor started to make more money by 2012 by appearing on TV shows such as "The Sopranos," "Modern Family," and "How I Met Your Mother."

According to GO Banking Rates, Lin-Manuel Miranda earned $6.4 million yearly while starring as Alexander Hamilton on Broadway.

The earnings include the profits made from royalties and his salary as an actor. Miranda will continue seeing 7.5 percent of the show's revenue for as long as it runs.

Disney purchased the film rights to a live performance of "Hamilton" in February 2020 for $75 million. Between June 2019 and June 2020, Miranda reportedly earned $45 million. 

Celebrity Net Worth reported that Miranda earns a $105,000 royalty check every single week while the show tours, being entitled to a 7% cut of the box office gross as the sole creator, author, and composer of "Hamilton."

The royalties had earned Miranda about $12.7 million by 2017. Miranda purchased the Drama Book Shop in New York City in 2012. He wrote the original draft for "In the Heights" in the bookstore years earlier and bought the shop to save it from going out of business.

Lin-Manuel Miranda's net worth reportedly amounted to $80 million. Aside from his fortune, he also garnered awards with his creations, particularly in "In the Heights," which received 13 Tony Award nominations and won four. It included Miranda's first Tony Awards for Best Original Score.

He worked again with Disney for the "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." In 2021, Miranda made his film directorial debut with another musical, "Tick, Tick... Boom!"

Last February, Billboard estimated that the eight songs written solely by Lin Manuel Miranda in "Encanto" had earned $4.7 million in global royalties. So far, the outlet noted that Miranda has made "millions" from these songs.
