Johnny Depp on Monday settled an assault case filed against him by a staff of the film "City of Lies."

According to Entertainment Tonight, Depp's assault-related case was initially set to kick off on July 25. However, court documents showed that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" actor had settled the lawsuit with the "City of Lies" location manager Gregory Brooks.

Depp was supposed to be represented by his lawyer Camille Vasquez, who also represented him during his defamation trial against his ex-wife Amber Heard. The Daily Mail reported that Depp agreed to comply with the settlement by the end of August.

"The settlement agreement conditions dismissal of this matter on the satisfactory completion of specified terms that are not to be performed within 45 days of the date of the settlement... A request for dismissal will be filed no later than 1/5/2023," the court documents stated.

The settlement amount was not disclosed, but the case will reportedly no longer proceed to trial.

'City of Lies' Staff's Assault Case Against Johnny Depp

The "City of Lies" location manager filed the assault case against Johnny Depp in 2018, claiming that the actor punched him twice in the rib cage on April 13, 2017.

Gregory Brooks noted that they got into a fight after he relayed the message to Depp that they were running out of time for filming.

Aside from punching him twice in his rib cage, he also accused Depp of causing him emotional distress through verbal attacks. He also alleged that Depp offered the location manager $100,000 to punch him in the face.

Brooks' suit claimed that he suffered physical pain and psychological injury after the said encounter. As they responded to the lawsuit, Depp's lawyers noted that the physical attacks on Brooks were in "self-defense/defense of others."

They also claimed that the actor was "provoked" and that Brooks made him "feel unsafe. Emma Danoff, who worked as the script supervisor for "City of Lies," previously told the court that Brook's declaration of the incident was inaccurate.

Danoff claimed that she saw Brooks using racial epithets at a Black homeless woman during the shooting, and Johnny Depp only reacted to it. She further noted that she had photographic proof that the actor did not punch Brooks.

Johnny Depp's Legal Team Responds to Amber Heard's Claim of 'Mistrial' in Defamation Case

On Monday, Johnny Depp's camp responded to Amber Heard's claims of a mistrial in the actor's defamation case as they fight the actress' attempt to toss the verdict and $10.35 million judgment.

Court documents filed by Depp's legal team and obtained by Yahoo Entertainment said: "the verdict was well supported by the overwhelming evidence, consistent with the law, and should not be set aside."

The actress' lawyers cited multiple reasons why the verdict should be dismissed, including a discrepancy over Juror 15.

As Amber Heard's camp asked for a mistrial, they noted that the 52-year-old male juror who shared the same last name as his dad and lived in the same house was wrongly reported to court when his older father was summoned.

However, Johnny Depp's legal team rejected the actress' camp's "frivolous" arguments and claimed that Amber Heard's team was well aware of the juror discrepancy before trial.

Legal analyst Emily Baker seemed to have sided with the actor's team. Baker told Yahoo Entertainment that Heard's camp had the list of jurors that identified the juror information and birthdate, and they could have questioned the juror or raised this issue with the judge at the time, but they didn't.
