In the past few weeks, President Joe Biden has stunned the world after testing positive for the COVID-19 virus twice in July 2022. He experienced a rare occurrence of a "rebound" case of the infection while being treated with the Paxlovid drug.

Now in August, the 79-year-old U.S. president has tested positive again for the deadly virus on his 7th straight day since the virus "rebounded" last Saturday.

Biden's physician, Dr. Kevin O' Connor, has prescribed the Biden to take the anti-viral drug, Paxlovid, a 5-day aggressive treatment for the COVID-19 virus.

Joe Biden Health Condition Update: President Still Positive for COVID-19

President Joe Biden remains positive for the COVID-19 virus for the seventh straight day since he rebounded on the infection, his physician Dr. Kevin O' Connor shared in a new letter to The White House.

According to the presidential physician, Biden continues to feel "very well" despite testing positive again.

"His cough has almost completely resolved. His temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation remain entirely normal. His lungs remain clear," O'Connor reported.

Since the President was tested last Saturday, the physician affirmed that they have continued monitoring him daily to check for progress. However, his work as a president continues nevertheless at the Executive Residence but remains "very specifically conscientious" to protect any staff from the residence, The White House, Secret Service, or anyone whose duties require close proximity to him.

Dr. Kevin O' Connor, in his letter, promised to update everyone, should there be changes to the President's treatment plan.

Biden tested positive for the COVID-19 virus last Saturday, July 30, in a rare rebound case of the infection because of his Paxlovid treatment.

Pres. Joe Biden Treated With Paxlovid Drug Despite Rebound Cases

After being cleared with the virus last July 26, President Joe Biden experienced a "rebound" infection after four days. While many seemed surprised about the resurgence of the virus, the medical community has somewhat anticipated this.

The Centers for Disease Control and PreventiON (CDC) has initially warned that there is a small percentage of patients who could experience the "rebound" positivity while being treated with the aggressive five-day regimen of the Paxlovid drug.

President Biden was treated with the anti-viral drug the first time he tested positive last month.

Since last Saturday, his medical team, under the leadership of Dr. Kevin O' Connor says that there is no reason to "reinitiate" treatment at the time but still continued to monitor him closely.

White House COVID-19 Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha affirmed CDC's statements, adding that there are 5-8% of people using the treatment who have rebounded.

Meanwhile, President Joe Biden has been relentless in his work despite testing positive again. Earlier today, he signed two bipartisan bills to hold individuals accountable for committing fraud under the government's pandemic relief program.
