Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz may not be popular in the state he is representing at all, as fellow Houston Astros fans booed him during the baseball team's World Series victory parade, just like when he was booed in New York.

While many were happy that their team won the MLB World Series in Game 6 against the Philadelphia Phillies, they were none too happy when a vehicle carrying the senator and notable Astros fans passed by.

However, unlike that time in New York, it was not just boos, jeers, and middle fingers thrown at him. He was also literally thrown a beer can during the parade, according to SB Nation. A video of the incident was also posted on social media, and it went viral.

Man Arrested for Throwing Beer Can at Ted Cruz

TMZ reported that while the beer can did manage to hit the Republican senator in the chest/neck area, he did not require any medical attention. However, the video showed that he was surprised that the beer can was thrown at him.

Police are saying that the man who pelted Cruz with the can has already been taken to jail and is facing potential assault charges. However, TMZ pointed out that he is yet to be identified. Reports stated he is 33 years old.

The can was already emptied when it was thrown at Cruz, but it was somehow deflected by one of the people riding with him at the back of a military jeep. Despite this stunt, however, Cruz was still heavily booed as he and the vehicle passed by during the parade.

Social Media Reacts to Ted Cruz Being Part of the Houston Astros Championship Parade

The Houston Astros won their second World Series title in six years after beating the Phillies. Before that, they closed out the New York Yankees. However, if there is something Astros fans and Yankees fans agree on, that is booing Ted Cruz, whom he himself has stated is a big Astros fan.

Videos of the senator being booed, getting the middle finger, and even the incident where the beer can was thrown at him, became viral on social media.

Many also questioned why was he even part of the victory parade. Another also noted that "assholes just gotta put some stink in everything."
