Tyson Foods has recalled about 94,000 pounds of ground beef products from Texas shops due to possible contamination with a "mirror-like" substance.

Products manufactured at Tyson Foods Inc. in Amarillo, Texas factory "may be contaminated with foreign matter," the company said in a news release on Wednesday. Tyson Foods supplies the H-E-B supermarket chain with beef products.

The 5- and 10-pound chubs of Hill Country Fare 73% lean ground beef, and the 5-pound chubs of H-E-B 80% lean ground chuck are reportedly among the recalled products.

According to Boston 25 News, the company said the meat products were sold at H-E-B, Joe V's, Mi Tienda, and Central Market stores in Texas. Tyson Foods said in its release that these beef products had a freeze-by date of November 25, 2022.

KENS-TV reported that the company noted that all recalled products had already been removed from store shelves, and no other ground beef products were affected by the voluntary recall.

Tyson Foods said there have been no injuries reported. The company said consumers who have purchased any of the recalled products could get their money back by bringing them back to the store where they bought it.

Tyson Foods in Texas Notified FSIS Following Consumer Complaints

The company told the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) that they had received complaints from customers, saying they had found "mirror-like" material in its ground beef products, which they bought in grocery stores.

There have been no confirmed cases of adverse reactions from consuming these products, but anyone worried about an illness or injury should talk to a healthcare provider.

FSIS is worried that some products could be in the fridges or freezers of consumers. People who have bought these products are asked not to eat them. These things should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.

FSIS checks how well recall works regularly to ensure companies tell their customers about the recall and take steps to ensure the product is no longer available to consumers.

The retail distribution lists will be posted on the FSIS website, www.fsis.usda.gov/recalls, as soon as they are ready, according to Fox 34.

Other Companies Also Recalled Some Products Last Month

Due to the potential presence of copper wire fragments, Lone Star Bakery, Inc. recently called back some 5,740 pounds of beef shepherd's pie products, RTT News reported.

Meanwhile, anyone with questions about the product recall can call the Tyson Fresh Meats Consumer Hotline at 1-855-382-3101 or email Derek Burleson, a Tyson Fresh Meats, Inc. public relations specialist, at Derek.Burleson@tyson.com.
