The scandal surrounding suspended Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka has rocked the NBA before the 2022-2023 season even started. Now, actress and Udoka's partner, Nia Long, has finally spoken out about the scandal.

Long sat down with The Hollywood Reporter and admitted that she and their son, 11-year-old Kez, still have feelings of devastation about the scandal. It was because of Kez that she also took a jab at the Boston Celtics organization.

The actress stated that it was heartbreaking when she saw her son's face when the Celtics Organization decided to make their very private situation go public. She added that they still find the situation devastating and that her son "still has moments where it's not easy for him."

Nia Long also admitted that nobody from the Celtics Organization called to see if they were OK, and she found that to be "very disappointing."

Long has been engaged to the suspended Celtics head coach since 2015. The current status of her relationship with him is still unclear, but she told THR that she is "co-parenting" their son with Udoka.

She also thanked her fans for all their support and outpouring of love that she got from them, as well as her family and friends. She admitted that the news shocked her, but was thankful for the "bubble of protection" provided to her and found that very comforting.

Ime Udoka Cheated On Nia Long With Female Boston Celtics Staffer

The Ime Udoka scandal started when the Boston Celtics Organization announced that they are suspending Udoka for the entire 2022-23 season, according to Fox News.

The team did not reveal why they were suspending him. However, things changed when The Athletic came out with a report that detailed the coach's relationship with a female Celtics staffer. The report alleged that the two had an "improper and consensual relationship."

ESPN then came out with a bombshell report that revealed that the Celtics Organization has launched an independent investigation into Udoka's relationship with the female staffer. It found that the suspended Celtics coach "used crude language in his dialogue with a female subordinate." This happened before their improper relationship even started.

Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck called in an independent law firm to conduct the investigation. That firm found several new pieces of information, but Grousbeck admitted that it took some time to "develop all the facts."

Ime Udoka Unlikely to Return as Head Coach Next Season

Udoka led the Celtics last season into the NBA finals, before losing to the Golden State Warriors. However, despite the winning record, Udoka may not be keeping his job at the team as the Celtics are doing very well with Joe Mazzulla, who was named interim head coach after Udoka was suspended before the season began.

According to The Boston Globe's Gary Washburn, the team seems "fully invested" with Mazzulla who has so far made the Celtics into one of the NBA's top teams this season.
