A famous Guatemalan rapper, who was missing for three days, was found dead inside a barrel in the trunk of an abandoned car in Guatemala City.

The Daily Mail reported that the National Civil Police discovered the body of Nesly Monterroso, 27, early Monday morning. Her body reportedly showed signs of extreme violence.

Consuegra, known as 'Neshie" in the Guatemalan hip-hop scene, was last seen leaving an office she owned last Friday. Residents on a block between 29th Street and 3rd Avenue alerted the police about a suspicious-looking vehicle.

They said a group of individuals left the gray Mazda 3 without license plates at around 10 p.m. Sunday near the entrance of a car repair shop.

Guatemalan Rapper 'Neshie' Killed by a Blow to the Head

When the police arrived at the scene, they searched the vehicle and discovered a barrel inside the trunk, New York Post reported. Authorities said the Guatemalan rapper's body was stuffed inside a barrel tied with ropes.

According to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences, the musician was killed by a strong blow to the head. The U.S. Sun reported that the motive for Neshie's murder is still unclear and remains under investigation. No arrests had also been reported as of Thursday afternoon.

Neshie started rapping in 2013 before releasing her first album in 2016. She is responsible for forming the women's freestyle movement known as "Women Free," which helped and empowered women to become rappers.

The Guatemalan rapper was also a known animal rights advocate and a businesswoman. Neshie released at least a dozen songs, all of which are part of her 2016 album, titled "Estados Mentales."

Fellow Guatemalan rappers and friends gathered together on Wednesday evening and marched in Guatemala City. They called on Guatemalan authorities to find and arrest those responsible for her murder. Her fans left heartfelt messages and numerous tributes on her social media pages.

Death of Guatemalan Rapper 'Neshie' Happened After Death of a Guatemalan DJ

Neshie's death comes a few months after another Guatemalan music personality was also killed. In May, 35-year-old DJ and teacher Edwin Villafuerte was shot dead by a drunk reveler during a traditional Guatemalan festival in honor of Saint Isidore the Laborer in the village of San Isidro.

According to The Mirror, the drunk reveler shot the Guatemalan DJ dead when he refused to play a song request. Reports said Villafuerte told the shooter that the celebration was over and he had already packed his equipment.

The gunman reportedly walked away but returned and waited for the Guatemalan DJ outside the room. Apparently furious at not having his song request played, the murderer shot Villafuerte at close range with multiple bullets without saying a word.
