College Station police verified to FOX 4 that the body of a missing Texas A&M student from Flower Mound, Texas, Tanner Hoang, had been found in Austin.

Hoang, 22, vanished on December 16. He was due to see his family, who had traveled to College Station to witness his graduation, for lunch later that day but was told he would never be able to graduate by Texas A&M.

On December 22, Hoang's automobile was discovered at a parking lot in West Austin.

On Saturday, social media posts indicated that Hoang's body had been found.

Not far from where the automobile was found, near the Pennybacker Bridge on Austin's Loop 360, Hoang was found dead, according to a post by the non-profit Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley.

"So sad to state that Tanner's family reports that he was found deceased today in Austin, not far from where his vehicle was recovered. Certainly not the outcome so many people had hoped for. Please keep Tanner's family in your prayers during this difficult time," AANBV wrote.

The College Station Police Department has not made any statements on Hoang's death.

Missing Texas A&M Student Failed to Attend Their Family Lunch

Hoang was reported missing on December 16 when he failed to attend a family meal, and his loved ones could not reach him through any other means, per PEOPLE.

Although they said they had flown in to attend his graduation, they were disappointed to learn he had not met the necessary standards and would not be participating.

As reported by Tanner's dad, he texted his son at 8:30 a.m. and received confirmation that Tanner had viewed the message before powering off his phone.

His family monitored his debit card transactions and learned that he filled up his gas tank at a Caldwell, Texas, gas station at 12:08 p.m. After that, his whereabouts were a mystery.

On December 23, his car, wallet, and debit card were discovered close to the trailhead for the Pennybacker Bridge Overlook at Highway 360 and the Colorado River.

Two days of searching were conducted by volunteers on foot and in boats, with the help of three drones.
