Royal sources have slammed Prince Harry's recent claims that the royal family had shown "no willingness to reconcile" with him.

According to Daily Mail, royal insiders hit back at the Duke of Sussex, branding his claims "'nonsense" as he and his wife, Meghan Markle, had an open invitation to join the rest of the royal family last Christmas.

A source told Mirror that the latest claim by Harry was "complete and unadulterated nonsense."

Royal sources noted that King Charles III invited the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to spend Christmas with the rest of the family despite the release of their controversial Netflix docuseries where the couple launched a series of attacks on the royal family.

The insiders noted that Charles has been "saddened" that he has not had the opportunity to spend time with his grandchildren,

They also said that the king has always "left the door open for his son," Harry, and "will continue to do so."

There have also been concerns regarding the upcoming memoir of the Duke of Sussex entitled "Spare," with one source saying that book will feature stinging attacks on Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton.

The source noted that the book will be "worse" for the Prince and Princess of Wales than the royal family expected. The insider added that Charles came out of the memoir "better than it had expected."

Harry's memoir "Spare" was written by ghostwriter JR Moehringer. Some of the proceeds from the books will reportedly be donated to a charity of choice.

Prince Harry's '60 Minutes' Interview Regarding Royal Family

In the Duke of Sussex's "60 Minutes" interview with Anderson Cooper, he said every time he tried to address their decision to step back from their royal duties, there have been "briefings and plantings" of stories against him and his wife.

Harry then cited their family motto: "never complain, never explain." He noted that it was just a motto and did not really hold.

"There's endless [complaining and explaining] through leaks... They will feed or have a conversation with the correspondent, and that correspondent will be spoon-fed information and write the story," he noted.

He added: "Then at the bottom of it they will say that they have reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment. But the whole story is Buckingham Palace commenting."

In the Netflix docuseries, Harry claimed it was "heartbreaking" to see Prince William leave his promise to "never plant stories against him." He noted that they were first-hand witnesses of "what happened in our dad's office."

Harry said in the docuseries that he meant the "constant briefings about other members of the family" and sending invitations to the press. He went on to describe the incident as a "dirty game."

The Duke of Sussex further noted that if one's communication team wants to remove a negative story about them, they will give the press something about someone else's principle.

Harry said it resulted in "offices end up working against each other."

He concluded: "I would rather get destroyed in the press than play along with this game or business of trading. To see my brother's office copy the exact same thing the two of us promised we'd never do... that was heartbreaking."

Prince Harry on King Charles III and Prince William

In a recently released clip from his upcoming ITV interview, Prince Harry claimed that he would like to "get my father back" and his older brother, Prince William.

In their Netflix docuseries, Harry also recounted when his brother did "scream and shout" at him while his father was saying things that were not true when he expressed his plan to move to America. He said the late Queen quietly sat there and just took it all in.

In the ITV interview, Harry said he doubts there will be a true apology from his family. King Charles III has reportedly not watched the series but has been "deeply saddened" by the criticisms.

But despite their strained bond, the king will reportedly still invite Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to his coronation on May 6.
