Anitta's Early Career

Anitta was born in Brazil's bustling capital Rio de Janeiro on March 13, 1993. According to reports, she and her brother were raised by their single mother in a rough neighborhood.

Nevertheless, she overcame all odds to become a thriving superstar in Brazil. Anitta knew she would be a star since she was a little girl.

The Brazilian pop star began singing in the Santa Luzia Church choir when she was eight. She started taking dance classes at age 11, which explains why she seemed so confident on stage.

She also started learning English at that age and is now wholly proficient. The singer admitted that her mother had her study English and she now feels fortunate to have mastered three languages.

Anitta's birth name was Larissa de Macedo Machado. She said her current stage name comes from a beloved TV character from her youth.

Given the significance of the character, she adopted "Anitta" as her stage name. Anitta married Thiago Magalhaes, a businessman, in 2017. However, in 2018, they decided to separate.

She has dated several people in the past, including Mr. Thug, Ohana Lefundes, and Pamela Tosatti.

Anitta joined the board of Latin American financial start-up Nubank to help advertise its credit cards, loans, and checking accounts, according to Reuters.

Anitta starred in a commercial for the fledgling financial institution Nubank, which she had previously helped promote in 2021.

On the 14th month anniversary of her joining the board of directors, Nubank revealed in August 2022 that Anitta had resigned mainly due to her schedule.
