911 Calls Reveal the Chilling Moment During the Hollywood Broadwalk Shooting

The aftermath of the Hollywood Broadwalk shooting incident during Florida's Memorial Day weekend was captured in chilling 911 calls, revealing the terrifying moments when gunshots rang out, sending crowds into panic and leaving victims sprawled on the ground, the Sun Sentinel reported.

A dispute between two groups of men escalated into a chaotic scene of gunfire, harming innocent bystanders and turning a day of celebration into a scene of terror around 7 pm.

A witness staying at the Diane Oceanfront Suites on 1300 N. Broadwalk, who dialed 911 to report the incident, said she heard three rapid gunshots followed by a brief pause and two more shots.

The caller's frantic voice conveyed the situation's urgency, describing people hiding against walls and a group of individuals gathering around a wounded victim lying on the ground.

In a recently released 911 call, the witness explained, "We just ran into the hotel room, and I immediately called you. People are all hiding up against the walls. There's a bunch of little kids outside."

Before the shooting, the same witness had noticed a group of young men smoking marijuana and causing a disturbance outside her hotel around 3 pm. Hotel management was informed and asked to leave, but the individuals reportedly lingered in the area, setting the stage for the tragic events that would later unfold.

Another caller informed emergency services of hearing gunshots and witnessing two women in distress, while a third individual reported seeing three injured individuals near Ben & Jerry's and Subway.

In another distressing call, a beachgoer claimed to have been seated next to one of the victims when the shooting occurred.

Arrested Hollywood Broadwalk Shooting Suspects

Eighteen-year-olds Morgan Deslouches and Keshawn Stewart have been apprehended on charges related to the Hollywood Broadwalk shooting incident, AP reports.

Authorities suspect that they discharged a handgun during the altercation. Among the five firearms recovered at the scene, one had been reported stolen in Miami, while another was stolen in Texas.

Deslouches faces multiple charges, including felony theft of a firearm, felony concealment of a handgun, and felony tampering with a serial number. His bail has been set at $20,000. Meanwhile, Stewart has been arrested for concealed carry and is held on $15,000 bail.

Notably, the jail records need to list the names of Deslouches and Stewart's legal representation.

Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy expressed profound sadness and anger in response to the shooting. Levy emphasized that during busy holiday weekends, many officers are deployed to the beach to ensure swift response and the apprehension of individuals involved in such incidents.

"People come to enjoy a holiday weekend on the beach with their families, and to have people showing complete reckless disregard for public safety and engaging in a gun-related altercation in a crowded setting with thousands of people around them is beyond reckless," the Hollywood, Florida mayor stated in a released statement.
